Random News...

1. I purchased this skirt. It was too pretty/affordable to pass up.

2. I went to high school with one of the dancer's on the MTV Show "America's Best Dance Crew". I was watching the show and recognized him, but it's been a while, so I ran upstairs and check the website. Sure enough, it was him. I may, or may not have had a slight crush on him for his mad dance skills.

3. I gave my business card out to four people last month. I have a hard time with self promotion (I'm definitely not a good sales person), but I've resolved to give them out to people who compliment my jewelry.

4. I made a new necklace. It's pink peruvian opal and yellow jade. Pink and yellow is one of my favorite color combinations. But I still haven't given it a name yet...anyone want a necklace named after them? I already have one in the works named after my mom, so anything other than that is fair game.

5. I'm doing another give away! Comment on this post by Saturday, March 30th at 10:00pm to win this pair of earrings! They are yellow jade and coral.

My Heart Out!

I'm so excited I could squeal like a teenage girl! The lovely ladies over at YHO have featured my topaz earrings on one of their "Locals on Etsy" posts. Seriously, this made my month! I usually try to avoid over using the exclamation point, but this one deserves them all! Yippie! And welcome to any YHO readers who decided to stop by. Be sure to check back here in the next week or two, because I'm planning a give away in celebration!

No, Nancy, this is not in any way an announcement...

So I'm not as young and hip as I thought I was because I don't know how to get a video on my blog from YouTube, but check out this link. It's hilarious, and even better the second time.

Found via Jordan's Blog.

Pucker Up!

This is, perhaps, the coolest thing, EVER! A House built entirely of lemons and grapefruits. It's all part of a Lemon Festival that happens in France. Check out some of the other things those crazy Frenchies did with their lemons.

{Sweet} Little Bunny

In case any of you were interested in picking me up a pricey Easter present, I want this one.

On an unrelated note, I used some of my left over pomodoro sauce last night in some homemade calzones. I just used some of that pizza dough in the pop open containers and filled them with sauce, and what ever toppings you like. It was tasty and easy, so give it a try!

Pass the Pomodoro

For lunch today I had some tasty penne with homemade pomodoro sauce. This is a recipe I came up with after much trial and error. The orange juice might sound a little strange, but you don't taste orange, it just adds sweetness. And sorry for inexact measurements. What can I say, I'm my mother's daughter, and I don't measure things. Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Pomodoro Sauce

Ingredients:
1/2 sweet onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1-2 tbsp olive oil
1 can tomato sauce (the small ones, I think they're 6 oz, but might be 8 oz)
1 can whole tomatoes (the big one, I think it's 32 oz)
Juice of one orange
About 1 tsp. pesto season or Italian season
About 1-2 tbsp. chicken bouillon
salt and pepper to taste

Saute the onion and garlic in the olive oil until soft and translucent. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer. Puree mixture with hand blender (a regular blender will work if you don't have a hand blender, it's just more convenient). Serve over hot pasta with freshly grated Parmesan. Enjoy!
